This is an environment where every team member is making a difference, no matter what the nature of their role. Due to growth they are currently looking for a Senior Procurement Specialist. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, this is an ideal position for someone clearly established in their procurement journey. You will be heavily involved in providing direction and leadership across different speciality areas and will contribute towards the development of procurement strategies, managing the end to end tendering process, writing tenders, negotiating contracts and managing a range of relationships. Being highly organised and taking the lead with a proactive approach will see you have impact and influence within the team and broader organisation.

This is a multifaceted senior position where no two days are the same and thinking and acting quickly is required. Your role will see you dealing with a variety of stakeholders both internally and externally so managing and fostering relationships is imperative.

The role:

  • Leading allocated sourcing projects from project initiation to contract award and handover in accordance with agreed plans and timeframes - often high risk and/or complex sourcing projects
  • Providing strategic procurement guidance and technical expertise and being a role model for procurement best practice
  • Developing and implementing best practice category strategies that support strategic objectives and maximise realisation of benefits
  • Having knowledge of, promoting and performing in alignment with policies, strategies, business plans, processes and procedures
  • Supporting contract management activities as required
  • Delivering high quality end to end tendering process
  • Mentoring of staff
  • Background and Skills:
  • Proven track record in procurement
  • NZCIPS qualifications would be advantageous
  • Public/ regulated sector experience would be ideal
  • Effective stakeholder engagement abilities
  • Experience working with ERP system - SAP ideal
  • Big picture thinking
